We LOVE Christmas - so we will make every visit at the Christmas Village special for you!
Nov 28 2013: Sneak Peek
It’s Thanksgiving AND the first day of the Christmas Village in 2013! Stop by the LOVE Park after the Thanksgiving Parade and start gathering ideas what to get your beloved ones for Christmas this year! Be the first one to see what each vendor has to offer and taste traditional European treats.
So bring your family along for a little Sneak Peek and enjoy a mug of hot gluhwine (mulled wine) and a cup of hot chocolate with some marshmallows on top for the little ones.By the way, you can also get you Christmas card pictures taken! Pay Santa a little visit – he will be in his little hut to listen to all the Christmas wishes your kids may have.
Beat the crowds and get some shopping in before the Black Friday rush!
The vendors and the Christmas Village Team are looking forward to this very first day of the Village - we can't wait!
Nov 30 2013: The Grand Opening Ceremony with the original Christkind from Nuremberg/Germany
Just one day after Black Friday the public is invited to join us for our grand opening ceremony at LOVE Park with the original Christkind from Nuremburg. Coming from one of the oldest Christmas Markets in the world, she will honor us with speaking her traditional prologue at 2:00 p.m, which she also annually speaks in Germany.
The Opening Ceremony comes with wonderful performances by a local choir as well as a marching band, so you can get into the spirit of the holiday season with your friends and family. Don't miss out on our food stands serving traditional European food, desserts and drinks - everyone is sure to find something they like.
Make sure to get a photo with the Christkind during her traditional walk of the market. In Germany, she is the person who brings the Christmas gifts to the kids and she won’t be coming empty-handed!
Schedule of the day
1:00 Performance Father Judge Marching Band
1:30 Walking In Christkind with her entourage
2:00 Christkind recites the traditional prologue with which she will open Christmas Village officially
2:15 Performance by a local choir
The Christkind will walk over the market after reciting her prologue. Kids, make sure to take a picture with her and get a hard candy out of her gift basket!

Dec 14 & 15 2013: Army/Navy Weekend
This weekend, the Christmas Village will be offering late night shopping for the fans of the Army/Navy football game as well as every one else who needs an extra hour to get some Christmas shopping done. On the day of the big game, the Christmas Village will be open until 9pm.
Make sure to wear your favorite jersey to support your team and the troops! Everyone is invited at this special day to celebrate after watching the game. Come & use the opportunity to see the Christmas Village at night, lit up with wonderful lights.
Dec 21 & 22 2013: Fundraiser Weekend
The Christmas Village will be hosting a Fundraiser Weekend to help raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley - an organization we think is worth supporting again. Their mission is to "grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy". Every 38 minutes the Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants a wish and we want to help them to share the power of a wish®!
All of your monetary donations will be donated 100% to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley! Another way would be to purchase a hanger at the info-booth, write your wish on it and hang it up on our Wish Wall! We will donate 1$ out of each sale to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley! This fund raising we actually run through the whole duration of the market!
On Saturday, the Christmas Village is also organizing a spectacular balloon release – handing out helium balloon to the children amongst the crowd. If we manage to release them all together at 3 p.m., we might be able to raise even more awareness outside of LOVE Park for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
